Results & Medals
How results are recorded, where to read the standings, and how medals are decided.
Once the draw is done and the event is running, results collect themselves. This page covers where scores come from, the organiser results views, and exactly how medals are worked out for each draw format.
Recording results
You don't type scores into the backend. Matches are scored at the mat on the IpponBoard scoreboard app, and each result flows straight back to the tournament. As a bout completes:
- the winner and win type (ippon, waza-ari, decision…) are recorded on the fight;
- dependent fights advance automatically — the next bracket slot, the repechage, and pool crossovers all fill themselves in;
- the division's standings and medals update live.
The Fights tab shows the live count across the mats, and Draw Status gives a division-by-division progress view with a Resolve action if you ever need to nudge progression along by hand.
The results overview
The Results tab shows every division at a glance: a Complete / In Progress badge, the medal count, and the top placings. Filter by gender, format, age group, or status to find a division fast.
A division's podium
Open any division for its full result — the final standings, each competitor's medal, their win/loss record and win rate. This is the sheet you read from to hand out medals.
How medals are decided
Medals are awarded from actual match outcomes, never from a standings sort — so they never appear before the deciding matches are fought. It works per format:
Pools + crossover
Gold and silver from the final (the two pool winners); bronze from the bronze match (the two runners-up). Three medals.
Single elimination + repechage
Gold and silver from the final; two bronze from the repechage — standard judo double bronze. Four medals.
Round robin
Placings from the final standings, but only once every bout in the division is complete — so a leader mid-way through isn't crowned early.
Ladder
Medals are earned by reaching win thresholds, with participation recognised for the rest.
Sharing results publicly
Results are organiser-only by default. To let spectators see brackets, standings, and medals, turn on Results & winners under Public visibility on the tournament page, then share the tournament's public link. Participants and the schedule can be shared independently of results.
