Registrant Self-Service
How competitors register, get a confirmation, and manage or pay their entry — no account required.
Competitors don't need an IpponBoard account to enter your tournament. When you open public registration, anyone with the share link can sign themselves (and others) up, receive an emailed confirmation, and return any time through a private link to check their status or pay — all from a phone.
Registering to compete
The share link opens a simple form: competitor details, any custom fields you asked for, and — if you charge one — the entry fee. A guest just adds their email for the confirmation; a member can log in to use member rates and register dependants.

What happens after they register
A confirmation email is sent
Every submission triggers a confirmation email to the address they gave, listing the competitors entered and whether a payment is due. It's sent through the same template system as your other emails, so you can rebrand or reword it.
The email carries a private “manage my entries” link
The email includes a personal link tied to their email address. No password, no account — it just works, and stays valid for the life of the tournament so they can come back whenever they need.
If a fee is due, they can pay from the link
An unpaid entry shows a Payment due badge and a pay button. They pay on their phone, and the entry flips to Paid — the same receipt is emailed back to them.
Managing and paying an entry
The manage page lists every entry made from that email address with its live payment status. It's the competitor's home base for the event — bookmark-able, and safe to reopen from the emailed link at any time.

Turning a guest entry into an account
A guest is offered the chance to create an account — right after registering, and again on their manage page. Signing up with the same email keeps everything in one place: their details are prefilled, and past entries move under the new account. If they type an email that already has an account, the form spots it and points them to sign in instead of creating a duplicate.
Registered with a different email? If someone entered the tournament under one address but already has an account under another, they can open their emailed manage link, sign in to that existing account, and link the entries across — the emailed link proves the registration address and the sign-in proves the account, so nothing is left stranded and no duplicate account is made.
Why entries only appear after email verification
Anyone can type an email into a sign-up form, so a match on email alone isn't proof it's yours. Past entries are only revealed under an account once that email address has been verified — until then, the private emailed link is the only way in (and it's safe because it requires access to the inbox). This stops someone claiming another competitor's entries just by guessing their email.
