Square is ideal for clubs that want to accept in-person payments at the front desk. Use Square Terminal or Square Reader to take card payments, or accept online payments through your member portal.

Connecting Square

Navigate to Payment Settings

Go to Settings → Payment Provider from the main navigation.

Click Connect Square

Find the Square section and click "Connect Square Account".

Log in to Square

You'll be redirected to Square's website. Log in with your existing Square account, or create a new one if you don't have one yet.

Authorize Ippon System

Square will ask you to authorize Ippon System to process payments on your behalf. Review the permissions and click "Allow".

Select Location

If you have multiple Square locations, select the one to use with Ippon System. For most clubs, this will be your main dojo location.

Verify Connection

After authorization, you'll return to Ippon System and see the connected status.

After Connecting

Online Payments

Square online payments are automatically enabled. Members can pay for memberships and events through your portal.

Terminal Setup

To accept in-person payments, you'll need to pair a Square Terminal or Reader. See our Square Terminal setup guide.

Payout Schedule

Funds from Square transactions are deposited to your bank account on Square's payout schedule (typically 1-2 business days). Manage payout settings in your Square Dashboard.

Fees are deducted automatically before funds are deposited to your bank account.

Square's in-person rates (2.6% + $0.10) are lower than online rates. Encourage members to pay at the dojo for larger purchases.
You can use both Square and Stripe simultaneously. Use Square for in-person and Stripe for online automatic billing.
Square requires business verification for large transactions. Complete verification in your Square Dashboard to avoid payment limits.
